When the dust of AI Disruption will settle...

AI will disappoint the LinkedIn-monger who preaches that the days of software engineers are numbered. AI will take the job of the engineer who thinks they are safe.

Like every development, AI will practically announce its arrival (past). Like every disruption, AI will shake things up (present). Some players will exaggerate the impact, some will underestimate it, while the rest will not see what hit them.

More code will be written by AI. Subpar systems will be rolled out by vibe coders. The quality of systems will decline. Frustration will lead to corrections. Better talent scouting and superior hiring will take place. Garbage will be collected. Normalcy will be restored. The shallow will fail, and the depth will succeed—to the surprise of no one well-informed.

Some voices are excitement, some are engagement-traps, some are lies—the rest are shallow.

But the question is: when the dust settles - for it always does - where will you stand? And where will I be? And when we meet again on the other side—what shall our baggage be?
